Altar Boys is a ministry that offers young boys the sacred opportunity to serve in the Holy Altar and participate more deeply in the liturgical life of the Orthodox Church. Under the guidance of the parish priest and experienced altar leaders, boys learn the meaning and reverence of the Divine Services, as well as the practical responsibilities of assisting during the Divine Liturgy and other services. Through this role, they grow in discipline, attentiveness, and a deeper understanding of the Church's traditions and symbols.
More than a service role, being an altar boy is a path of spiritual formation and leadership. Boys are encouraged to cultivate humility, obedience, and respect for the holy space they serve in. They also develop bonds of brotherhood with one another and with their mentors, fostering a sense of belonging and responsibility within the church community. This ministry nurtures their faith and plants seeds for a lifelong commitment to Christ and His Church.
